The “Development and Finalization of Baguio City’s Voluntary Local Review Report: Validation Workshop for Baguio City VLR” is a full-day event bringing together a wide range of stakeholders committed to advancing the city's sustainable development goals. The Dialogue featured four main sessions: an overview of the SDGs and the Voluntary Local Review (VLR), overview of the VLR Findings where the UNDP presented the data they have collected, a Breakout Group where participants gathered additional inputs and recommendations, and a final session focused on discussing the outputs and their key takeaways in the Breakout Group. As a highly urbanized city grappling with rapid population growth, environmental degradation, and limited land space, Baguio needs innovative solutions to achieve a balance between development and sustainability. This collaborative approach encouraged participants to voice their stories and perspectives, ensuring that Baguio's sustainability initiatives are well-informed by the needs and aspirations of its residents. These discussions will serve as a foundation for further action in aligning the city’s development with global sustainability goals. These events strengthen the city’s commitment to the implementation of SDGs to ensure that everyone has safe and inclusive spaces for all.
